Mocktail For Mommas
Try This refreshing Mocktail made with just a few simple natural ingredients. Make the pear ginger fizz! Fresh ginger is widely considered safe during pregnancy when used in culinary doses. Ginger contains specific active compounds such as shogoal and gingerol associated with reduced morning sickness and nausea. It is also considered a wonderful digestive aid helping to relieve gas and bloating and can promote bile production aiding the absorption of fats.
Recipe -
1 ripe small-medium Bartlett pear peeled, de-seeded and quartered
1 thumb-size piece of ginger peeled and chopped
1/2 cup plain club soda Blend all ingredients and serve over ice
Dried ginger on the other hand may be too potent during pregnancy. And not everyone should consume ginger given its blood thinning property and potential to interfere with other medications. Always consult your doctor to find out how much ginger is safe for you and your baby.
