3 Nutrients That SUpport Male Fertility

When trying to conceive, men’s fertility and overall health is just as important as female’s fertility and health. Both of which can be improved with proper nutrition. Here are 3 nutrients that boost men's fertility:

Zinc- Lower sperm count and testosterone levels are commonly associated with low levels of zinc. This mineral can be obtained from seeds like pumpkin and sesame, shelfish, squash, and lentils.

Selenium- This trace mineral is a potent antioxidant that protects sperm from DNA damage and also promotes sperm motility. Foods rich in selenium include brazil nuts, seafood, poultry, and potatoes. Just 2-3 brazil nuts can deliver the daily dosage!

Vitamin C- Vitamin C is more concentrated in the semen than any other part of the body! This is a vitamin that also acts as an antioxidant, protecting the sperm, and playing an important role in preventing sperm agglutination (clumping). While vitamin C is widely available in many colorful, fresh fruits and vegetables, such as citrus, tomatoes, and bell peppers, regular intake is necessary since this vitamin is not stored in the body. Vitamin C offers the added benefit of increasing iron absorption!
