Sumac Orange chicken

Ingredients:

•2 tablespoons sumac separated 

•1 tablespoon shallot pepper

•3 tablespoons olive oil 

•6 bone-in skin-on chicken thighs 

•1 red onion sliced

•1 large orange sliced

•2-3 cloves garlic crushed

Directions:

Mix 1 tablespoon sumac, 1 tablespoon shallot pepper, and 3 tablespoons olive oil. 

Lay the orange slices on the bottom of a resealable glass dish, next lay the chicken and drizzle the herb/oil mixture over the chicken rubbing it in. Last cover with the garlic and sliced onion and shake the second tablespoon of sumac over everything. Seal and refrigerate all day. chicken thighs in an airtight container with one red onion sliced and six orange slices thin.

Bake at 400 for 25 minutes covered with foil.

Broil another five minutes uncovered. 

Don’t forget to eat the orange peels…..they become very tender and tasty!
