Make self-care easy
Self care can feel like such a buzzword right now but there is truth behind the principle of first taking care of yourself before being able to take care of others. Self care is so important because it relieves stress which reduces the development of other health conditions.
As busy women, especially those with children, it can sometimes feel difficult to implement self care practices. Which is why today we are going to talk about ways that you can make self care easy.
So what does self care even mean or look like?
Self care is a moment where we get to Refresh and Reset.
It’s a time to relax, breathe, tune into your energy, and nurture your passions. Getting clear on what your passions are and what helps you relax is unique to each individual. So make it your own.
This can be as quick as a 5-10 minute experience you create for yourself. For me, it’s been taking 10 minutes a day or every other day to play the guitar.
Taking short periods of time to reset every day or at least a few times a week can make a huge difference in how you show up for your family, children and friends.
To help you build that self care practice, you can begin by
choosing one thing you’d like to do for self care each day
Decide for how long you'd like to do it. (Start small so you don’t feel overwhelmed or discouraged to even start.)
Place post-it notes around the house or at work to remind you to take some time for you
Set timers on your phone to remind yourself to take a break.
Start with small goals and reminders to begin building your self-care practice.
